Twp #25 reading ft. Janowitz, Smith

Thirty West is honored to bring our reading series to Saint Joseph's University. We are ecstatic to host SJU alum, Krisann Janowitz, and New Jersey-based fiction writer, Bud Smith, to McShain Hall.

Open mic will precede the features. Each reader/performer is allotted 5 mins to read poetry, fiction, or even perform a song if you please.

After the featured readers, there will be an open-ended, brief Q&A. Anything about publishing, writing, and more is open to being discussed.

Light refreshments will be provided. Books from Thirty West and the features will be available as well.

This is a free event and open to the public!

Krisann Janowitz has always had a passion for poetry and words. This passion has led her to graduate with her MA in Writing Studies from St. Joseph’s University in 2017. While there, she enjoyed being the Editor-in-Chief for her program's literary magazine, The Avenue. Some of her poems have been published in streetcake magazine, Moonstone Press, and Z Publishing's Pennsylvania's Best Emerging Poets, along with a chapbook, Home(less): A Sampling of Poems on Home & Homelessness, published by Moonstone Press. In her free time, she enjoys romping about in parks and skateparks with her burly husband and spunky Shih Tzu.

Bud Smith is the author of Teenager (Tyrant Books, 2019), Double Bird (Maudlin House, 2018), WORK (Civil Coping Mechanisms, 2017), Dust Bunny City (Disorder Press, 2017), Calm Face (House of Vlad, 2016), among others. He works heavy construction building and destroying chemical plants, refineries, and generating stations. He’s on Twitter @bud_smith

Josh Dale is a bicyclist, Bengal cat dad, open mic goer, and an MA candidate at Saint Joseph's University. His work and press have appeared in Breadcrumbs Mag, Drunk Monkeys, Huffington Post, Page & Spine, vox poetica, and others. He’s the founder and editor-in-chief of Thirty West Publishing House with two chapbooks and a poetry collection, Duality Lies Beneath (Thirty West 2016).
